Welcome

On behalf of the MVM Group, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the upcoming 55 th International Gas Conference.

For me, this conference has always represented more than just professional presentations and discussions. It serves as a compass and an opportunity to view our work from a new perspective and to reflect on questions we rarely have time to consider in the hustle of daily life.

In recent years, it has become increasingly clear that the environment in which we operate no longer accommodates the familiar patterns we once relied on. More and more factors are emerging for which we have no ready-made answers. This is why it is particularly important to pause from time to time, critically examine the way we operate, and, when needed, reconsider our decisions and the motivations behind them.

As professionals, we have a responsibility not only to keep up with the times, but to help chart the course ahead. The natural gas sector is simultaneously facing sustainability requirements, security of supply issues, along with technological and market transformations. In such a complex landscape, it has become clear that we cannot move forward alone. Without industry-wide dialogue, cooperation and joint strategic thinking, there can be no progress.

For years, the International Gas Conference has served as a forum for sharing knowledge and forging a common future, where esteemed leaders, thinkers and innovators from both the domestic and international energy sectors come together to exchange their experiences. I am proud that this event has evolved into one of the most influential gas industry gatherings in the region.

On 7–8 October this year, we will once again meet in Balatonfüred to share experiences, explore the latest trends and seek answers to the key questions driving the future – whether they concern artificial intelligence, regulatory challenges or commercial strategies. For me, the true value lies in You – in your dedication, your expertise and in the spirit of dialogue and cooperation. I am convinced that only through joint effort can we achieve real breakthroughs and shape a gas industry that is sustainable, innovative and secure for the future. I hope that each participant discovers that one idea, connection or insight that makes them say: it was truly worth being here.

I look forward to meeting you in person soon. I am counting on you!

Best regards,
Károly Mátrai
