On behalf of the MVM Group, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the upcoming 54th International Gas Conference.
I must admit, this event has always been special to me, as I am convinced that this conference gives us the opportunity to bring about changes that go beyond mere professionalism.
The past year has also been full of challenges, with situations that have tested us both professionally and personally. In the midst of geopolitical turbulence, when everything can change from one moment to the next, the importance of collective thinking and finding quick, creative solutions has become even more prominent. These moments have made it crystal clear that the key players in our industry are not just businessmen or engineers, but true problem solvers.
We carry a huge responsibility and face significant pressure. Still, I genuinely believe that we can find inspiration in those moments when we realize that what we do has a real impact.
Natural gas is close to our hearts, and also a central issue, as its role is indispensable. Renewables are gaining ground, but natural gas is still one of the main pillars of our region's energy supply. It is like the queen in chess: versatile, powerful and crucial to strategy. One wrong move can set you back, while carefully considered, long-term strategic decisions can lead to security and growth.
Dialogue and cooperation remain essential for discovering new ways to enhance energy security and sustainability. This conference is not only a professional meeting but also an opportunity to think together about the future. I encourage you to share your ideas and experience – even the boldest thoughts can spark something new. And who knows? Maybe this conference will be the place where the next big breakthrough emerges.
