Gergely Szabó has been Regional Chairman of MET Central Europe since May 2024, which is a newly formed division within MET Group incorporating the operations of MET CE and MET Gas and Energy Marketing. Previously, he led the organization of MET CE since 2019. In his new role, Gergely Szabó is responsible for strategic and business management in six European energy markets, in Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine, where the regional group provides a broad portfolio of natural gas and electricity products and energy efficiency services to more than 5,500 business partners in the segments of small and medium-sized enterprises, state-owned institutions and large industrial companies. Gergely Szabó led MET Hungary between 2014 and 2024, and between 2020 and May 2024 he also managed METCE Hungary, which integrated the operations of the organizational units of MET Hungary Ltd. and E2 Hungary Ltd. Between 2011 and 2014, as CEO of MET International, he managed the Swiss subsidiary of MET Group. Gergely Szabó started his career at MOL Group's gas division in 2007, then between 2010 and 2011 he held the position of Executive Director of Origination and Structure Trading at MOL Energy Trade Ltd.
