Tamás Kovács has 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector. He began his career in 2006 at one of the first biogas plant execution in Hungary. Since 2008 he worked for 10 years as project manager at Stallprofi Kft, the Hungarian partner of UTS / Anaergia, the biogas technology supplier of more Hungarian biogas plants. He was responsible for execution of the biogas plant at Szarvas, Nagykőrös, Kapuvár, Nagyszentjános, Onga and Balatonszabadi. He also worked on international biogas projects like Limassol, Cyprus or Cape Town, South Africa.
He worked at E.On Hungária Zrt. on development of several B2B industrial energetical service solution projects. As project manager at ALTEO Nyrt. he was responsible for execution of the 5 MW battery energy storage at Kazincbarcika, and the 5 MW electric heated steam boiler at Sopron. Later, he led the renewable gas business unit at the Hungarian office of the Spanish ID Energy Group, where he worked on developing several new biomethane projects, focusing on feedstock security and efficient integration into the gas grid.
oday he is the Head of New Gases Origination Department at MVM ONEnergy Zrt.
He is highly committed to ensuring that the number and capacity of biogas plants specified in the national Biogas and Biomethane Action Plan should be established by the planned deadline in the best quality and price-value ratio. With his wide network of contacts, he works intently on knowledge transfer, the development of the appropriate legislative environment and the involvement of the necessary actors, especially from the agriculture sector. His task is to give professional suggestions for regulation changes, developing MVM group’s regional biomethane trading activities, as well as the thorough due diligence of investment project opportunities and the development of investment proposals.
Tamás is the Chairman of the Renewable Gas Working Committee of MMESZ – Hungarian Renewable Energy Association.
Tamás is a graduated proud agricultural and logistical manager in the Hungarian energy business area.
